Ability for mailbox owners to change password

Post by Black20VT »

Hi,

At the moment, unless I've missed the setting somewhere, it's only possible for the person who has access to the Control Center (Admin) to change passwords.

Would be great if users could change their own passwords if they happen to be compromised, rather than relying on the Admin to change it.

I guess the Admin would still have the ability to overwrite/reset it if need be, however, would be good if users could set their account password. Also means the Admin doesn't need to know user passwords.

I hope that makes sense.

Regards.

That's correct, the only way to change passwords for services (like mail boxes) is through the account control center. We considered it in the past, but at the time there wasn't any demand for such a feature. We can revisit this in the future.

*Bump*

Its now nine months since this feature request was made, and best I can tell it still hasn't been implemented.

Having users not able to set and change their own passwords is a gaping security hole, can this one make it up the priority list please?

It's part of the API interface.
