Accepting e-mails but not forwarding

Post by cbrown69 »

Rollernet seems to be accepting email for my domain cmpbrown.com, but it is not being forwarded. Can telnet in to IP 24.10.217.215 OK, which is the address I listed as my server. Any help as to what is going wrong?

Thanks

Your domain is missing pretty much all of its DNS records:

http://dnsreport.com/tools/dnsreport.ch ... pbrown.com

You need to fix this first.

How do I go about fixing this? Domain is hosted on Go Daddy. Use the DNS servers on zonedit. Any clue? Thanks

You need to set up DNS records with your DNS host, which in this case, is zoneedit. At least SOA and MX records are required. I've never used zoneedit before, so I can't really say exacly how to go about doing it.

The specified destination server, "cmpbrown.com", does not exist. The destination server for SMTP Redirection must be resolve to an IP address.

I don't know what you mean. I just checked on the link previously used to DNSreport.com and it came back OK. Do I need to put the IP address in the destination server box?

It looks okay now, however, our caches still have the old information. It won't work until the old information expires from our caches.

You can enter the server's IP address in the account manager to deliver existing queued mail, but new messages won't be accepted until the old information expires from our caches.

Thanks for your help. How long until the cache expires?

Thanks

DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to take effect. Unfortunately, DNS is one of those things you have to get right the first time or you'll end up waiting a while before it's fixed. DNS related issues are beyond our control.
