Hi,
I was following these instructions how to Setup DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM). The dkim-milter package includes a script which generates the necessary TXT DNS record which includes the public key.
However, this string is 300 characters long, and the Rollernet control center here won't accept it, saying it is too long. I don't see any options with the script to generate a shorter key, so I am stuck. Might it be possible to allow longer TXT records for this purpose? Any other workaround possible?
Thanks

Re: TXT record length
Right now the content for DNS records is stored in a varchar(255) field, but I will look into expanding it. The maximum size was 255 in older versions but I believe that's been raised considerably. It should be as simple as adjusting the field size and the ACC to validate it.

Re: TXT record length
Hi, just wondering whether this fix was still in the pipeline.
Re: TXT record length
Yes, it is. I should have it done by the end of the week.

Re: TXT record length
The account control center changes are complete and I'll go ahead and roll them out so they can be added, but TXT records longer than 255 bytes can't be parsed by the current version of PowerDNS we're running (2.9.22). PowerDNS 3.0 has a fix for this, so we'll need to upgrade before they can be served. I apologize for the delay; unfortunately some of the changes to make this work are not trivial.

Re: TXT record length
Thanks for the update. This isn't an critical issue, it would just be useful to have. Can you post a follow-up here when you have v3 of PowerDNS up and running?

Re: TXT record length
I will; there's some other features we've wanted to add for a long time that have dependencies on support in PowerDNS 3.0.

Will give it a try this weekend. Thanks
