it only confirms what i am saying..

that it can't resolve nameservers from secondair nameservers..

i was curious if it was due error or whatever why it is that the secondairys don't kick in or if it is just cause they still have to

http://dnsreport.com/
all is good except lame servers..
nslookup mydomain.net ns1.rollernet.us
returns servfail and says its not found

dnsreports says no errors what so ever beside that

Do the master servers send a NOTIFY? We currently do not have the ability to do timed reloads, only real-time transfer on NOTIFY.

nvm i found out wat was wrong

dlink has predefined rules for dns which i enabled, anyway apparenlty they only added udp ports and didn't bother to include tcp port so after a few days of looking i finaly found out what the freaking problem was

:!: stupid me, but one would expect that it is included .. bah should of known better :!:

Are you sure? Because it looks to me that your DNS servers are checking my SOA every 1hour - 1.5hours.

If your DNS servers find a higher serial number shouldn't they do a zone transfer?

i.e

02-Jun-2005 18:19:51.685 queries: client 67.118.43.92#48495: view external: query: dalegroup.info IN SOA -

Thanks :)

It's a side effect of how we're working BIND into the account manager database. Whenever someone makes a change to DNS in the account manager, it triggers a timer to rebuild the config file and causes bind to refresh its configuration. Whenever that happens, BIND goes out and does SOA queries.

In theory, it's possible for these refreshes to never happen, but in practice, someone usually updates their DNS information in the account manager at least once an hour.
