Message Subject & Sieve (SPAM)

Post by Black20VT »

Hi,

I've been thinking recently on how SPAM is dealt with on our hosted accounts.

At the moment, I'm using sieve to filter messages with;
if header :contains "X-Spam-Flag" "YES"
This is working fine, however, some users don't subscribe to their SPAM folder, or use mobile devices and just check only their Inbox.

So this is where I was wondering if sieve, or another option, can do something in the subject for example as an alternative to filtering and show potential SPAM. Because if I disable the sieve above, the SPAM will end up in the Inbox, with it not being identified in any way.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks,

Chris

Sieve can't alter the subject of messages. You can set the "Subject prepending" setting for the SpamAssassin filter in the account control center.

Ah ha, of course. Sorry, totally forgot about that setting.

So, it'll append the subject with anything over the required score?

Thanks.
