dns update fails to propagate

Post by cbrace »

Hello,

I have some four domains hosted here at Rollernet. Recently I changed the hosts of three of these domains, and updated the IP numbers accordingly in the ACC.

For some reason, the IP number for two of the domains has now properly propagated; dig returns the correct IP. However, the third seems "stuck". The ACC page shows the correctly updated IP number, but dig still returns the previous value.

Stemming from the time when I used to have a dynamic IP, I've set the TTL to 300s, so any changes to the DNS records should be quickly visible.

The domain in question is QUILOMBO.NL

Thanks.

I think I found the problem.

According to whois, the DNS records are still pointing to Zoneedit.

However, when I log into the account page of the name registrar, transip.nl, the correct nameservers are indicated:

ns1-auth.rollernet.us
ns2-auth.rollernet.us

I'll have to take it up with them.

Another way to see where it's really going is to run the command "dig +trace QUILOMBO.NL" if you have access to a system with the "dig" tool. We'll work on adding it to the control center under the tools section.
