REASON FOR ACTIVITY: Install StorageWorks MSA
SERVICE IMPACT: Access to the account control center at https://acc.rollernet.us
EVENT START: Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 11:00 PDT (GMT-8)
EVENT END: Saturday, July 11, 2009 12:00 PDT (GMT-8)
DURATION ESTIMATE: 30 minutes.

We will be adding an HP StorageWorks MSA direct attached array and E500 controller with 15k SAS drives to the master database server to increase its storage capacity. The array will be deployed with unused spaces to permit two storage upgrades in the future without incurring additional maintenance events.

The new array and controller have been configured and are awaiting the maintenance window for installation into the production system. Watch this space for updates.

The server has been up for the last 20 minutes, however we're going to be stopping database connections in a bit to move the tablespace files around.

File copy is starting now. We have to move a 200 GB file so we can reformat the old storage partition as XFS.
