Re: IPv6 Glue Records

Although nic.us does not allow IPv6 glue as far as I can tell, .net does allow IPv6 glue. Have you though about adding IPv6 glue for ns3-i.rollernet.net? I doubt most resolvers will not use it because the glue for .net servers do not exist in cctld.us, but at least hosts that do not have IPv4 could...

Re: 6to4 source address causing Secondary DNS to ignore noti

The hostname is not used beyond doing an A record lookup before generating the config for BIND; it's impossible to define a master server by hostname. On the BIND side it's IP only, so your config was built with an IPv4 address only. A 6to4 address will work fine as long as it's listed.

Re: Logging lag?

I answered this by email, but I figured the response would be worthwhile to post here for others. The ACC logs aren't instant so there is some lag, but it should only be on the order of several minutes (or hours if it's playing catch up after the monthly maintenance run), not days. The search functi...

Re: Can't disable third-party signatures on outgoinf mail

That's generally correct. Outgoing filtering is not controllable through the account control center for a simple reason: it could be easily abused. That said, the "auto" variation of those rules has been more trouble than it's worth, so I've removed the entire signature database.

Unfortunately I do not have any experience with Exchange personally, so I don't know if this is possible or not.

Well, I had written up a nice lengthy reply, but then I closed the browser window and deleted it. Basically yes, I am working on a simple URL rewriting function.

Re: "Malformed DNS server reply" in Outbound smarthost

Thanks for the fast reply - please excuse my lack of DNS knowledge here but if it's best practice to do 4xx why should I set 5xx, is there any other way to stay compliant and get the smarthost to NDR only the one bad email address in this multi-recipient message? No, not really. Because there is no...

Re: "Malformed DNS server reply" in Outbound smarthost

Hi guys, We're getting a long backup in our outbound SMTP connector in Exchange.... My logs forOutgoing Accounts (staff if you're looking the username is "enterprise" within smarthost users today) shows the following error: "Malformed DNS server reply, zero length MX resource data fo...

Re: Copy to 'Sent' server side

I have a new HTC EVO (Android 2.1) phone myself, and I'm finding there is no solution to the duplication problem. There's nothing unique in the headers to add an exception on, and nothing in the phone to turn off copying to sent. (Or I haven't found that setting yet since I've only had it since Mond...

Re: Copy to 'Sent' server side

Thanks for the responses. I'm happy disabling the copy carried out client side, as all of them are using Thunderbird, so it's just a check in a box, so that shouldn't be an issue. I don't know how iPods, iPhones do it, but if webmail can be de-duped, that'll be perfect. Hmm, I wonder have the Apple...
