Re: Push Email Support for Cell Phones

Testing this with K-9 mailer on an Android phone. Can't connect with the server, either on port 143 or 993. IDLE works fine, maybe not needed?

Re: TXT record length

Thanks for the update. This isn't an critical issue, it would just be useful to have. Can you post a follow-up here when you have v3 of PowerDNS up and running?

TIA

TXT record length

Hi, I was following these instructions how to Setup DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) . The dkim-milter package includes a script which generates the necessary TXT DNS record which includes the public key. However, this string is 300 characters long, and the Rollernet control center here won't accep...

Re: squirrelmail plugin: address book import/export

One thing: it has a rather low default maximum size for the CVS: 5Kb, which is about fifty addresses. If it could be set higher, say 50Kb... See the README.
Thanks.

squirrelmail plugin: address book import/export

Hi,

There is a plugin for squirrelmail which allows address books to be imported in CSV format: Plugins - Addressbook Import-Export

Would you consider installing it on your webmail server?

Thanks.

I think I found the problem. According to whois, the DNS records are still pointing to Zoneedit, as one can see here: http://dnstools.com/?count=1&lookup=on&wwwhois=on&portNum=80&target=quilombo.nl&submit=Go! . However, when I log into the account page of the name registrar, tran...

I think I found the problem.

According to whois, the DNS records are still pointing to Zoneedit.

However, when I log into the account page of the name registrar, transip.nl, the correct nameservers are indicated:

ns1-auth.rollernet.us
ns2-auth.rollernet.us

I'll have to take it up with them.

dns update fails to propagate

Hello, I have some four domains hosted here at Rollernet. Recently I changed the hosts of three of these domains, and updated the IP numbers accordingly in the ACC. For some reason, the IP number for two of the domains has now properly propagated; dig returns the correct IP. However, the third seems...

Thanks for the explanation. It would be useful to have better outgoing logging, but this isn't a high priority for me.

Good luck with the move, and thanks as always for the great service.

non-hosted mail and logs

Hi, I use rollernet mostly for sending mail, ie, I configure Thunderbird to use smtpauth.rollernet.us for delivery. (I have my own postfix server for incoming mail; because my server is connected via a home DSL line, it frequently gets blocked for outgoing mail.) When I use rollernet for hosting my ...

Thanks anyway for trying.

For me, the issue is no longer relevant as my ISP switched to permanent IP numbers in mid-July.

Interesting. My first inclination is to think: hey, your server was greytrapped by spamd! But that would be impossible, since spamd only greytraps hosts which have sent mail to invalid addresses in my domains which I have entered myself in its database. My rollernet Valid User Table only passes vali...
