MX record changing by itself...

Post by chris99 »

Hi,

I use RN as:
- Primary DNS of FirstDomain.com
- Secondary MX of SecondDomain.com

For FirstDomain, I have the following DNS entries:

- FirstDomain.com MX 0 mx.FirstDomain.com
- mx.FirstDomain.com A 111.111.111.111

As for SecondDomain, the only relevant thing is that mx.SecondDomain.com has the same IP address as mx.FirstDomain.com

Curiously, the MX entry for FirstDomain changes automatically from mx.FirstDomain.com to mx.SecondDomain.com, resulting as follows:

- FirstDomain.com MX 0 mx.SecondDomain.com
- mx.FirstDomain.com A 111.111.111.111

... and I believe this can create some problems as there can't be an A record for SecondDomain.

Can you please help me solving this? It happened twice in 2 days.

Thanks!
Chris

Are you using our DNS or someone else's? If it is ours, I'd need to see the real DNS entries to look it up in the system, I can't really speculate.

For SecondDomain I'm using someone else's DNS. I PM you my RN account details.

Thanks,

Unless someone or something is changing DNS records, I can't think of anything that would cause what you're describing to happen on its own.
