Strange results with Spamassassin

Post by lavajoe »

Hi, I have started to use spamassassin for a couple of my accounts, and I seem to be getting results I do not understand (I looked into the spam scores being assigned, just to make sure, after noticing a number of spams got through the filter).

Specifically, in this case (not sure if it is part of a wider issue), when I send a test email from my own mail server to a rollernet account, I get the following two tests listed: tests=DKIM_POLICY_SIGNSOME,TVD_SPACE_RATIO

The test message seems to trigger TVD_SPACE_RATIO (it is a message with no content and a subject of "Test...") because it is empty, which is not what happens in my SA (spamassassin). Also, my server's DNS does not publish DKIM records at this time, so I do not know why SA reports this. I tried sending to my own server that also runs SA, and I do not get these two tests listed. I get a score of 2.9 with rollernet's SA (from TVD_SPACE_RATIO), whereas I get -2.6 with my server's SA, so I wonder if something is amiss. Here's the text of the test message:

Regarding the DKIM_POLICY_SIGNSOME test, this is caused by how the Mail::DKIM perl module is classifying the result:

https://issues.apache.org/SpamAssassin/ ... gi?id=5485

Because of this, we have a global 0.0 score override for this test in place. However, you still see it in the list of tests because of this bug:

https://issues.apache.org/SpamAssassin/ ... gi?id=5519

The 2.8 score is strictly from the TVD_SPACE_RATIO test. (http://spamassassin.apache.org/tests_3_2_x.html) As soon as we upgrade to SA 3.2.3 and beyond, you shouldn't see the DKIM_POLICY_SIGNSOME test anymore.
