Problems With Visa Cards

Postby RollerNetSupport » Fri Dec 12, 2008 10:16 am

There seems to be a problem (we suspect) with the Visa network that is causing excessive "declined" errors when trying to pay using a Visa card. The problem is happening with both domestic and international cards, even cards issued from the same bank we use.

We are trying to resolve this problem with our card processor.

If you Visa card won't work, here's a few things you can try:

* Try again tomorrow. It could be a temporary error.

* Contact your bank or card issuer and tell them your Visa was declined by the network.

* Try Google Checkout or PayPal.

* Contact us for details on the transaction that could be helpful to pass along to your bank or card issuer.

* Contact us for an extension on your renewal. (Only eligible for accounts with Visa decline errors matching this issue.)

We apologize for any inconvenience this is causing. Please be assured that we're aware of this problem and we're doing everything we can to try and find out what's happening.

We've added Google Checkout as another payment option.

All but two of the card problems (now including some MasterCards) are from Belgium and the Netherlands. We suspect it is a regional bank issue. Most of the cards exhibiting the unexplained "decline" error have been successfully charged weeks later. We're making the following recommendations: if you're having trouble paying, try again later. Or, try one of our other payment methods: Google Checkout or PayPal.

If you have any questions, please contact us.

Since the last post we came across a few more of these errors. In all cases it was the bank denying the transaction due to suspected fraud. If you are receiving unexplained "declined" errors please contact your bank.
